More than a fling – this cocktail crush promises to be a lasting affair.
Strawberry Basil Daisy Recipe
The Cocktail
- 1½ oz Tequila (Blanco or Reposado)
- 1 oz Fresh Lime Juice
- ¾ oz Curacao or Orange Liqueur
- ¼ oz Agave Syrup
- 1 to 2 oz Soda Water
- 4 - 6 Basil Leaves
- 2 twists of Black Pepper
Garnish: Fresh Basil Leaf or Top
Glass: Luisa Double Old Fashioned
Method: Add the basil and fresh black pepper into a shaker tin. Muddle gently to
express the oil from the basil. Add the tequila, lime juice, curacao, and syrup to the
mixing tin. Fill with ice and shake for 12 seconds. Fine strain into a double
old-fashioned glass with a few ice cubes. Top with 1 to 2 oz of soda water, leaving
room for the foam. Layer with strawberry foam and garnish with fresh basil.
Strawberry Foam
- 1 oz Egg White or Aquafaba
- ¾ oz Strawberry Syrup or Shrub
- ½ oz Coconut Water
- ¼ oz Fresh Lime Juice
To prepare: Combine the four ingredients and create a foam using a milk frothing wand,
immersion blender, or shake in mixing tins or a protein blender bottle. Keep it in the
refrigerator until ready, but use it within an hour.
