James Beard Award-winning Chef Mark Ladner selected MATCH Pewter and the 1508 Ceramic Collection for service at Babbo, one of New York’s most celebrated Italian restaurants. Longtime admirers of MATCH Pewter, Chef Ladner and the Babbo team were drawn to 1508 for its direct relationship to the pewter collection. Chef Ladner said, “the simplicity of both collections compliment and highlight the elegance of the other. I feel they exist in perfect harmony.”
Recently reopened under Chef Ladner’s creative direction, Babbo continues its legacy as one of the city’s defining Italian restaurants, where craftsmanship and authenticity guide every detail of the dining experience. “Made in Italy is important to us for all choices related to our table top,” says Chef Ladner.
Chef Ladner was especially drawn to the 1508 Collection for its “simplicity of design” and the subtle hallmark impressions that give the ceramics “an old world feel” — a balance of understated beauty, durability, and timeless Italian character.
