This coming August 9th marks the 30 year anniversary of MATCH. In the heat and humidity of the summer of 1995, MATCH started with 40 pewter items in an “illegal sublet” corner of another company’s booth in the New York Gift Show.
During a buying trip to Italy I discovered the work of Italian pewter artisans; its warmth and beauty spoke to me in a way that no American-made pewter ever had. I didn’t know it then, but this was the start of MATCH.
